FASTWEB selects SupportSoft's SmartAccess and ServiceGateway products.

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-6 July 2006-FASTWEB selects SupportSoft's SmartAccess and ServiceGateway products(C)1994-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

Software from SupportSoft (Nasdaq:SPRT), a provider of Real-Time Service Management (RTSM) software, has been selected by FASTWEB S.p.A. (Milan, MTAX:FWB), a telecomms services provider in Italy with over 790,000 subscribers.

FASTWEB selected SupportSoft SmartAccess software for the automated installation of DSL broadband VoIP and Internet services and ServiceGateway software for wireless home networking and gateway management of its IP service offerings. The software is intended to ease the installation and ongoing support of FASTWEB's triple play services and ensure a consistent customer experience for IP-based services subscribers.

The web-based SmartAccess solution enables broadband service subscribers to determine if their computer system supports a high-speed connection, and then automates the service activation process to speed up the installation.

ServiceGateway is intended to provide a common tool for the auto-configuration, management and support of customer premises equipment (CPE) for broadband customer service and network operations staff. It offers an independent, open platform supporting DSL Forum TR-069, proprietary interface CPEs and application programmer interfaces (APIs) for northbound integration to OSS and BSS and provides a remote management system.
