FANS URGED TO GO PUBLIC.
Croke Park has joined forces with Bus Eireann, Dublin Bus, Irish Rail, LUAS and Dart in an effort to get fans to leave the car at home.
The initiative, which was launched yesterday, consists of an advertising programme, use of the web, a leaflet and a specially-commissioned map.
The map is central to the campaign as it forcibly demonstrates to fans just how easy it is to walk to Croke Park, either from Dublin city centre or from the nearest DART, LUAS or mainline rail station.
There are also quite a number of buses that will take fans into the immediate area around Croke Park.
The campaign will be promoted both in Mayo and Kerry ahead of the football final, as well as nationwide.
The intention is to get the message home to fans that they will be far better off travelling by public transport.
The campaign will be carried throughout next year.
