FANS GIVE A COLLECTIVE NO.

John Gunn took a pot-shot at talk of a Dundee super team.

And the vice-chairman of Dundee United's supporters federation was backed by Dundee fans chief Norrie Price. But Gunn was stunned to hear his federation chairman Jimmy Jardine is FOR a merger.

Aberdeen-based Gunn said: "I have spoken to the majority of our executive and not one supports this idea. They don't want to consider it at ANY cost. Jimmy Jardine is entitled to his opinion - but it certainly isn't the federation view.

"I'm convinced United supporters would be 80-20 AGAINST and I'd suspect it's Dundee who are pushing this idea."

Dark Blues supporters chief Price said: "I'm against amalgamation and I urge the directors to bite the bullet and keep giving Dundee their best shot. They've made a lot of progress.

"I'm concerned about the timing of this and the affect on the players."
