FANNIE MAY TO ANNOUNCE FOURTH ANNUAL MAXWELL AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE
 HONOREES FOR THE PRODUCTION OF LOW-INCOME HOUSING
 WHAT: A Reception to announce and honor the Fannie Mae
 Foundation Maxwell Awards of Excellence grantees.
 The Fannie Mae Foundation will make grants of $25,000
 each to six non-profit organizations recommended by an
 independent advisory committee as having produced the
 best examples of low-income housing projects during the
 12-month eligibility period. An additional 12 finalists
 will receive recognition grants of $5,000 each.

 BACKGROUND:
 One hundred and fifty-three organizations from 35
 states and the District of Columbia submitted
 applications for projects that were placed into service
 between July 1, 1990, and June 30, 1991. The
 applications were evaluated in three categories:
 homeownership, rental, and transitional
 housing/SRO/group homes.
