FANNIE MAE BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTS WILLIAM EHRHORN SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT-MORTGAGE OPERATIONS

 WASHINGTON, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) (NYSE: FNM) has elected William G. Ehrhorn senior vice president-mortgage operations.
 Ehrhorn, 44, will be responsible for managing the operating departments which handle transaction processing for Fannie Mae's more than eight million mortgage loans.
 For the past eight years, Ehrhorn served with Nomura Securities International, most recently as executive vice president and division manager for operations, automation management, securities lending, and the Trust Company. He also was a member of Nomura's management committee.
 Ehrhorn joined Nomura in May 1985 as vice president in charge of the operations division.
 Prior to joining Nomura, Ehrhorn worked with Lehman Brothers' from 1982 to 1985, serving most recently as senior vice president of the International Finance group.
 From 1976 to 1982, Ehrhorn held various positions at Citicorp Capital Markets, Citicorp Real Estate, Inc., and Citibank, N.A.
 Ehrhorn is a cum laude graduate of Connecticut College.
 Fannie Mae is a congressionally chartered, shareholder-owned company and the nation's largest provider of home mortgage funds. Last year, the company funded mortgages for 2.9 million American families. Its headquarters is in Washington.
