FANNIE MAE ANNOUNCES DEBENTURE REDEMPTION

 WASHINGTON, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) (NYSE: FNM) announced that on Jan. 10, 1994, it will redeem all $700 million of outstanding Series SM-2001-A, 8.875 percent debentures due Jan. 10, 2001. The debentures were originally issued on Jan. 10, 1991. The redemption price of the debentures will be 104.438 percent of the principal amount redeemed, plus accrued interest on the principal amount redeemed to, but excluding, the date of redemption.
 Fannie Mae is a congressionally chartered, shareholder-owned company and the nation's largest source of home mortgage funds.
