FAMU to commemorate Brown.
The event is open to the public and will be held at 4 p.m., February 22, at the New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando at 2210 S. Rio Grande Ave.
The FAMU College of Law, as part of a community-wide commemoration of the 1954 decision, will have a public screening for "The Road to Brown," a documentary about Charles Hamilton Houston the attorney who launched the precedent-setting cases leading up to Brown v. Board of Education. The film, which examines the legal groundwork for the case, will be followed by a panel discussion with FAMU law professors and students moderated by Professor Frederick Dennis Greene. Professor Lundy Langston and Professor Barbara Bernicr will serve on the panel, and Dean Percy R. Luney, Jr., and New Covenant Baptist Church Pastor Randolph Bracy will make remarks.
