FALL AIRFARES TO U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS PLUNGE 30 PERCENT

FALL AIRFARES TO U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS PLUNGE 30 PERCENT
ST. THOMAS, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Fall airfares to the United States Virgin Islands have dropped to nearly their lowest level in history, with America, Delta and Continental Airlines offering roundtrip fares as low as $208 from the East Coast and $423 from the West Coast to The American Paradise.
"This is terrific news, both for our tourism industry and for the American traveling public," said Eric E. Dawson, United States Virgin Islands Commissioner for Economic Development and Agriculture. "These fares, combined with our special autumn hotel rates, will make a visit to St. Croix, St. John or St. Thomas this fall all but irresistible."
The airfares, which must be booked by Aug. 31, are good for mid-week travel from Sept. 14 to Dec. 14. They include roundtrip fares of $208 from Miami, $254 from New York, $267 from Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, $336 from Chicago, $347 from Dallas, $423 from Los Angeles and San Francisco, and $436 from Portland and Seattle. Reservations must be made 14 days in advance.
The rock-bottom airfares to the territory this fall are supported by similarly low hotel rates. Accommodations on St. Croix and St. Thomas start as low as $105 per person double occupancy for three nights and four days.
Travelers looking to Discover the American Paradise this fall should call their travel agent, the St. Croix Hotel Association at 800-524-2026, or the St. Thomas Hotel Association, 809-774-6835.
