In related news, Facts & Comparisons (St. Louis, MO), a unit of Wolters Kluwer International Health & Science, has expanded its licensing initiatives to include an Applications Service Provider (ASP) delivery service for drug, herbal and patient education for healthcare Web sites. The new format will allow for direct link from Web site to data files.The four data sets now available in an ASP format include: A-Z Drug Facts, a prescribing guide to over 2800 medications; MedFacts, a dosage form specific database on nearly 4000 patient education handouts; and, The Guide to Popular Natural Products, a reference service that includes information on the most common natural products and supplements.
In 1999, Facts & Comparisons launched its "Data Licensing Series," an online resource for drug, interaction, herbal and consumer information. The information resource carries data and related information on brand name, generic, OTC, herbal agent, side effect, and unlabeled use. The new application provider service is available for Web sites, PDAs, CD-ROMs and related electronic systems.
