FABRI-CENTERS ANNOUNCES RESIGNATION OF JAMES MONRO, JR. AS PRESIDENT, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER AND DIRECTOR

 HUDSON, Ohio, April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Fabri-Centers of America, Inc., (NYSE: FCA) today announced that James Monro, Jr. has resigned as president, chief operating officer, and director of Fabri-Centers, to pursue other interests.
 To replace Monro, Fabri-Centers' board of directors has elected Alan Rosskamm as president. Rosskamm will continue to serve in his current offices as chairman of the board and chief executive officer. Rosskamm said, "Jim Monro's many contributions to the company were appreciated."
 The company also named Jane Aggers executive vice president. "Ms. Aggers is well positioned for her new role, having a 17-year history with Fabri-Centers," said Rosskamm. Beginning as a Buyer in 1976, Aggers, 44, was promoted to senior vice president, merchandising in 1991 and senior vice president, merchandising and marketing in 1992.
 Fabri-Centers operates 688 fabric stores in 36 states, primarily under the name of Jo-Ann Fabrics, and 41 Cargo Express housewares stores in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan.
