 F. CROWDER FALLS ELECTED TO BOARD OF CK FEDERAL SAVINGS BANK
 CONCORD, N.C., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- F. Crowder Falls, retired managing partner of the Charlotte office of Peat Marwick Main, has been elected to the board of CK Federal Savings Bank (NASDAQ-NMS: CKSB), announced Gabe S. Stewart, chairman, president and CEO.
 "With his long professional experience and more than three decades of involvement in the Charlotte civic and business communities, Falls will contribute tremendously to the board," said Stewart.
 Falls, who joined Peat Marwick in Charlotte in 1959 and became a partner in 1970, assumed managing partner responsibilities in 1979. He specialized as an audit partner in accounting and auditing in the construction, real estate and merchandising industries, chairing Peat Marwick's national contractor committee and serving on other professional committees.
 Long active in civic affairs in Charlotte, Falls has been chairman of the University of North Carolina Accounting Alumni board and chairman of the Mayor's Budget Advisory committee for the city of Charlotte.
 Falls has served on the boards of many organizations, including the Charlotte Symphony, Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, the Arts and Science Council, Johnson C. Smith University, Brevard College, Mecklenburg Council of the Boy Scouts, United Community Services, and Mercy Hospital. In addition, he was on the business school advisory board of UNC-Chapel Hill and UNC-Charlotte. Falls also has been on the boards of the Charlotte City Club, Quail Hollow Country Club, Hound Ears Club and the Players Club of Piper Glen.
 Falls lives in Charlotte with his wife, Barbara.
 CK Federal Savings Bank, established in 1888, has nine offices in the Piedmont and Western North Carolina.
