F&M NAMES EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT OF MERCHANDISING

 WARREN, Mich., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- F&M Distributors, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: FMDD) has promoted Tom Lenkevich, president of its PartiGiant superstore division, to executive vice president of Merchandising. His new responsibilities include conducting and directing the merchandise buying, inventory control, advertising and marketing functions.
 Prior to joining F&M as president of PartiGiant in November of 1992, Lenkevich was president of G.B. Leedmark, Ltd. where he developed the first U.S. hypermarket for the company. He has many years of retail experience in chain grocery stores and previously was president and owner of his own grocery store.
 Lenkevich will remain president of PartiGiant as this new retail concept continues through its development stages led by a management team that Lenkevich has brought together during the past year.
 In making the announcement, Earl Weissert, president and CEO of F&M, said, "This move serves to facilitate the coordination of the merchandise, inventory control and advertising processes of the company. We look forward to the effect Tom's entrepreneurial spirit and knowledge of retail will bring to these important areas of the company."
 F&M Distributors currently operates 116 F&M deep-discount superstores in 10 states, offering a wide selection of branded health and beauty aids, cosmetics and fragrances and household supplies at everyday low prices. In addition, the company operates three PartiGiant deep-discount party supply superstores in Michigan.
