F&E RESOURCE SYSTEMS TECHNOLOGY, INC., COMPLETES REQUIREMENTS FOR LANDFILL PERMIT

BALTIMORE, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- F&E Resource Systems Technology, Inc. (FERST) (NASDAQ: FERS), reported that its landfill project in St. Mary's County, Md., has met the requirements imposed by the state of Maryland Department of the Environment for receipt of its operating permit. All other necessary permits and zoning have previously been received. The St. Mary's site will operate as a Forest Products Recycling Facility and Land Clearing Debris Landfill with total approvals to landfill up to 1.6 million cubic yards of debris.
Ronald W. Pickett, president and CEO of FERST, stated: "The facility in St. Mary's County will provide the region with an environmentally sound alternative to burning this readily recyclable land clearing debris. The 421-acre site gives FERST sufficient current and future landfill capacity as well as acreage for demonstration agricultural projects. Additionally, the site contains transferable development rights having an estimated resale value between $500,000 and $1,000,000. We believe the total projected development costs of $1,500,000 for the project represents only a fraction of the real value of 1,600,000 cubic yards of permitted landfill space."
FERST is a Maryland-based owner and operator of recycling and composting facilities. The company is traded on NASDAQ under the symbol FERS.
