Eye on the target.

CHILDREN had their eyes firmly on the target recently, as they got a taste of archery from members of Team GB during a school's Health and Fitness week.

Over 60 pupils, aged between seven and ten at Newcastle Church High school in Jesmond, were given the chance to participate in special archery sessions with Chairman of GB Archery, David Harrison, and Coach and Chairman of Walker Archery Club, Richard Gill. David and Richard, both from Newcastle, dropped in on the junior school pupils during a week filled with healthy lessons in activities such as kickboxing and aerobics.

David, who supported Team GB's archers during the 2012 Olympics, said: "We had a fantastic afternoon, it's always so rewarding to introduce a new generation of young people to archery."
