Exxon Chemical.

Exxon Chemical is consolidating its Linden, NJ and Baytown, TX polymers technologies facilities at the Texas location to allow the Linden operation better access to the company's Gulf Coast manufacturing facilities. A few employees will relocate to Texas as early as year-end 1992. A larger group will move during the third quarter of 1993, with the overall relocation due to be completed by early 1994. About 150 employees at the Linden Technology Center will be affected. A voluntary separation program is being planned for those employees. Many polymers employees will be offered relocation opportunities to Texas, as well as to other parts of the Exxon organization. However, the consolidation will result in reduction of positions.

A labeling error has lead General Tire to recall approximately 280 AmeriSteel truck tires shipped from Germany. The mislabeling occurred on size 385/65R22.5 LRL. Side-wall information in three areas caused the mislabeling - the tires had two sizes branded on the sidewall, no DOT designation and an incorrect PSI figure. Dealers have been notified of the error and the company will provide a replacement tire at no charge.
