Extendicare Inc. to Redeem its Outstanding Class I Convertible Preferred Shares, Series I - TSE/ME Stock Symbol - EXE.PR.A.

MARKHAM, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 22, 1996--EXTENDICARE INC. (TSE, ME EXE., TSE, ME, NYSE EXE.A.) (TSE/ME stock symbols - EXE and EXE.A; NYSE stock symbol - EXE.A) announced today that it will redeem on December 23, 1996 the whole of its outstanding Class I, Convertible Preferred Shares, Series I, of which there are currently 1,017,332 outstanding, on payment for each share of $25.00 together with 20.65 cents being an amount equal to all dividends accrued and unpaid thereon up to but not including the redemption date.

Notice of redemption will be mailed today to registered holders of such shares. Holders can surrender their shares at any time on or after the redemption date at any of the principal stock transfer offices of Montreal Trust Company of Canada in the cities of Calgary, Halifax, Montreal, Regina, Toronto, Winnipeg or Vancouver as specified in the notice of redemption.
