Extended LLB plan.

Byline: A.S. Khaldi-Hyderabad

THE three-year LLB programme, announced at the beginning of 2019, was the last of its kind. I enrolled myself in the programme, but the studies were badly affected due to the pandemic and the slow pace of Sindh University.

Since my admission in the three-year programme in 2019, only first-year examinations have been held. The examinations of the second year were due in August-December 2020, but were postponed. The last date of form submission of second-year examinations has now been extended till June 8.

It appears that the degree programme will not be completed in due time. The year 2021 should have been the last academic year for the students concerned, but since the programme is delayed already by one-and-a-half years, the students will not be able to get their degrees in time to enter the legal profession when they thought they would.

The authorities should promote students to the second year on the basis of their first-year marks, and announce the date of the final-year examinations. Also, the candidates should be given proper time to prepare for the final examinations.
