Exporting bullet-proof cars.
Like the thriving ship-breaking industry that Pakistan once had, the country is set to earn valuable foreign exchange from the lucrative export of bulletproof cars as the company manufacturing such cars has received export inquiries from as far afield as Indonesia.
The plant in Karachi is said to be in full production and is converting about 25 cars a month.
The cost of bullet proofing a car ranges from Rs 4 million to Rs 12.8 million depending on the models and shapes of the vehicles. Most customers are interested in the bullet-proofing of their 4X4 vehicles which usually costs Rs 4 million while cars like Mercedes-Benz cost up to Rs 12.8 million for a bullet-proofing job.
