Explosion occurs in Kabul.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 11 Kyodo

(EDS: CHANGING DATELINE, UPDATING WITH MORE INFO)

CNN news broadcast live video showing an explosion in a possible missile attack on Kabul early Wednesday morning local time.

Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden, who is suspected of being connected with Tuesday's terrorist attacks on the Pentagon and the World Trade Center in New York, is in Afghanistan, but a Pentagon official said the attack was not a U.S. retaliation.

A U.S. official said it was likely an attack by an anti-Taliban force.

The CNN video showed an explosion taking place after several missiles flew over Kabul. It was followed by antiaircraft fire.
