EXPLORING OUTSIDE MARKETS. A group of 77 Salvadoran companies from
different sectors are exploring markets in Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador
and Chile, reports Elsalvador.com (Oct. 19, 2012). Of the participating
firms, 22% are classified as micro enterprises, 45% as small, 18% as
medium and the remaining 14% are large companies. The activity
corresponds to the second edition of the program "Exporting Step by
Step 2012" by the Export Promotion Agency of El Salvador (PROESS).
Claudia Velez, manager of exporter development at the institution, said
that as a result of their analysis, Honduras and Ecuador will be the
first markets which they will approach commercially.
