Explorica Canada Joins Student and Youth Travel Association; Company Meets Rigorous Criteria to Become Active Member.

TORONTO -- Explorica, a leading educational travel company offering high-quality, low-cost travel programs worldwide, today announced that Explorica Canada has joined the Student and Youth Travel Association (SYTA(R)), a move that positions the company as a partner and leader in the student travel industry.

"Becoming a member of SYTA is an important step in showing how committed Explorica is to bettering all aspects of student travel," said Olle A. Olsson, Explorica Founder and President. "SYTA's leadership in the student travel field will be of great benefit to us as we further our company's goals of ensuring that teachers and students get the best educational tour, at the best price, and giving students the kind of learning that they will remember for the rest of their lives."

SYTA, a non-profit, professional trade association promoting student and youth travel, is the "The Voice of Student & Youth Travel(R)." To become a member, companies must meet specific criteria and adhere to SYTA's purposes and goals, which include maintaining a professional code of ethics for companies operating in the student and youth travel business, and creating a positive awareness of and desire for student and youth travel.

"Tour operators must meet rigorous criteria and adhere to a code of ethics, high standards of safety and accountability to become members of SYTA," said Michael Palmer, SYTA Executive Director. "Explorica Canada demonstrates SYTA's principles which allow trip planners to feel confident when traveling with a professional SYTA tour operator."

The rigorous application process includes verification of each company's financial stability, five letters of reference, proof of participation in an approved bonding program and evidence that the company has provided student/youth travel services for at least three years under the same ownership.

Explorica is also a member of TICO (Travel Industry Council of Ontario), IATA (International Air Transport Association), ETOA (European Tour Operators Association) and BETA (British Educational Travel Association).
