Experienced Barry on board as EY continues city growth.

EY has appointed Barry Moss as an assistant director within the firm's corporate finance practice in Birmingham, as the professional services firm continues to expand in the Midlands.

Barry has over 16 years' experience advising on M&A transactions across the Midlands and wider UK market, including a role leading the in-house M&A team for Sanctuary Housing Association, where he spent two years advising on a series of acquisitions for Sanctuary Care.

An experienced transaction advisor, Barry has extensive knowledge of all aspects of the transaction process, gained from advising a number of privately owned businesses in the healthcare, automotive, retail, leisure and manufacturing sectors.

At EY, Barry will focus on providing M&A transaction advice to a range of clients in the Midlands including privately owned SMEs, private equity backed businesses and large corporates.

He will advise across a broad range of sectors, with a particular focus on healthcare, housing associations and support services markets.

This appointment is part of a strategic drive to grow EY's Midlands practice and its regional corporate finance business, following the earlier appointment of Neil Meredith as partner to lead the Midlands corporate finance practice. The firm has grown by nearly 7 per cent in headcount over the past year and now has more than 900 people based in its Birmingham office at One Colmore Square. Barry Moss said: "With its experienced and dedicated team, ambitious growth strategy and strong brand in the Midlands, EY has a significant opportunity to grow as conditions continue to improve and confidence returns to the marketplace.

"I'm looking forward to getting out into the market, expanding my network and working closely with the region's businesses to build our client base and support the expansion of our regional M&A practice."

Neil Meredith, partner and Head of EY's corporate finance practice in the Midlands, says: "We have been busy securing new corporate finance clients and building our transactions pipeline over the past few months. Barry brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to EY and I am delighted that he has chosen to join our corporate finance practice in the Midlands. His approach and reputation for building trusted client relationships will help us further develop our client base in this area."
