Experian sheds document outsourcing business in Colombia.
1 November 2013 - Irish information services firm Experian Plc (LON:EXPN) on Friday said it had sold the non-core document outsourcing operations in Colombia of Experian Computec SA, which it took over as part of its acquisition of Computec in 2011.
The document outsourcing business, which made revenues of USD40m (EUR30m) in the year to 31 March 2013, was offloaded to Colombian investor Hermes Documentos SAS, the vendor said.
With this move, Experian frees up resources as it plans to focus on investing in its data and analytics operations in Colombia which it views as core to its business, the Irish group explained, adding it would also continue to develop additional Experian products in the Latin American region.
Experian, with around 17,000 staff in 40 countries, has operational headquarters in Nottingham, UK, California and Sao Paolo, Brazil. The group, with corporate headquarters in Dublin, provides data and analytical tools to clients globally.Country: ColombiaSector: Business and Consumer ServicesTarget: The document outsourcing business in ColombiaBuyer: Hermes Documentos SASVendor: Experian Computec SA, Experian PlcType: DivestmentStatus: Closed
