Expansion in Totowa.
Built by Bomar Builders Inc., the new 75,000-square-foot structure, which is located adjacent to an existing Vital Signs building, was completed on time and under budget, according to David Marshall, Bomar executive vice president.
"In addition to meeting the rigorous specifications established by Vital Signs, we had to coordinate our construction time table closely with management," said Marshall who explained that the new building was constructed on the site of an employee parking lot. "There were two phase involved. Initially, we constructed a new, expanded parking facility and then commenced construction on the building itself. All our work had to be accomplished with a minimum interruption of the firm's daily business routine."
The new two-and-one-half-story Vital Signs building which was designed by the Comerro Partnership of Paterson will contain office space as well as warehouse, manufacturing and assembly facilities. The building doubles the size of the Vital Signs operation.
