Expanding Cookware

Jacksonville Manufacturing Co. is moving dirt this month to make way for a 115,000-SF expansion, which will increase the size of its 317,000-SF plant by 36 percent.

The company, a subsidiary of Regal Ware Inc., produces cast aluminum range cookware and is expanding partly because of its success in direct sales to distributors. New jobs will be added "as needed," a spokesman says.

Looking At Video

The folks at General Properties Inc. have their fishing lines out for tenants at Lakewood Village. The latest fishing report says Family Video has been talking with General Properties, but nothing has been consummated.

Moving Cars

The strip of car dealers north of McCain Mall is about to widen. Two dealers are making plans to move their operations to the west side of Highway 67, across the road from Moore Ford, Sidney Moncrief, et al.

Jacksonville's Prestige Toyota is making plans to open a 25,000-SF site by the end of the year. Bill Smith, who bought the former Acklin dealership in September, says Toyota insists the business be located in North Little Rock.

The other dealer is still negotiating and would prefer to remain unidentified. However, don't be surprised if it's a luxurious move.
