EXPAND NETWORKS EXTENDS GLOBAL PRESENCE - ESTABLISHES EXPAND CHINA

Expand Networks (www.expand.com), recently positioned in the Gartner's Leaders Quadrant for WAN Optimization Controllers 2006, today announced the expansion of its global operations with the opening of new offices in China. Expand China is headquartered in Beijing with branch offices in Shanghai and Shenzhen and will be supporting the territories of Hong Kong and Macau. This corporate expansion will enable Expand Networks to better meet the needs of its global customers with operations in China as well as catering to the needs of the rapidly growing Chinese market. Expand China is a full-service office staffed by local professionals which will sell to and support new and existing customers including Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD), APL, Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) and Cerebos.

"We have been experiencing strong demand from many organizations currently operating in China - regional and international - who are looking for local expertise to help them manage their key IT initiatives including WAN optimization, application acceleration, IT consolidation, backup, disaster recovery and wide area file services (WAFS) to support their core business needs," said Michael Peevey, Vice President Sales, APAC, Expand Networks. "As this trend accelerates we are now better positioned to help clients with operations in China."

Driven by Expand's leading edge Compass Platform, Expand offers a complete, multiservice solution that integrates technologies for WAN optimization, acceleration, management and visibility, WAFS and security in one platform. Compass then maps them to the business mandates, resulting in improved user productivity and cost effective IT management.

"With the exponential growth of business in China, enterprises are faced with the very daunting challenge of keeping their branch office networks optimized," said Amir Chitayat, President, Expand Networks. "The opportunity for accelerating web based applications and network optimization will provide a real competitive edge for organizations in China that can do so, especially if they take advantage of the multiple benefits of the Expand Compass Platform. This technology will enable their global WAN initiatives and core network visions to be realized."
