Exceptional measures related to legal deposit.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the professional structures of press, printing and editing, a statement of the Prime Ministry reads. Emphasis was placed on the objective of the legal deposit which aims to put periodicals and non-periodicals at the disposal of the public and contribute to the enrichment of the fund of the National Library and that of the National Documentation Centre the same statement reads.
After the working session, a series of measure were taken so as to further introduce flexibility in matters of legal deposit, pending the revision of the decree-law nA 115 of 2011 in consultation with the concerned professional structures.
These measures consist in :
It is to be noted that article 3 of the decree nA59 provides that "each printer, producer, editor or distributor, whether natural or legal person, has the obligation to register or deposit periodicals and non-periodicals, for payment or free, in accordance with the procedures scheduled by the present decree even before putting them at the disposal of the public.
