Ex-CEO of National Energy Holding blames 4 people for Bishkek CHPP breakdown.
The Pervomai district court is hearing Aibek Kaliyev's testimony about the Bishkek power plant breakdown on March 28.
"Station shift supervisor, shift supervisor of chemistry department, head of turbine department and head of boiler department could not coordinate their actions and react timely. In my opinion this probe is absurd because the breakdown's timeline and perpetrators are already known. However, guilty people are acting as either witnesses or were freed at all," said defendant Kaliyev.
Case defendants are Kaliyev, Temirlan Brimkulov, Berdibek Borkoyev, Uzak Kydyraliyev, Omurkul uulu Nurlan, Nurlan Sadyrkov and Nurgazy Kurmanbekov.
Bishkek CHPP breakdown occurred on January 26, 2018 leaving the residents nearly without heating during the coldest since 2012 days. Then, the Prime Minister promised to punish everyone responsible for the breakdown. A number of high-ranking officials, including ex-Prime Ministers, were arrested afterwards within the criminal probe into the modernization of the power plant.
