Everyone can do their bit.

LAST year Stockton Borough Council's Care For Your Area team helped residents recycle almost 19,000 tonnes of household waste.

Stockton council or and cabinet member for the environment, Jennie Beaumont, says: "We arealways pleased to see people taking up the recycling challenge and helping the environment.

"Helping the environment doesn't have to be a chore, everyone can take part simply by choosing products with less packaging, composting leftover food and cuttings and recycling glass, paper and tins through the kerbside blue box scheme."
