Every second kW of power in energy system of Kyrgyzstan is lost or stolen for around $100 million annually, according to the preliminary conclusion made by the international consulting company Tetra Tech. This company has been assigned to analyze management system in power companies in Kyrgyzstan.The representative of Tetra Tech, Joellyn Murphy, said at the meeting of the public supervisory board of the Energy Ministry on February 25 that power transmission oversight is insufficient. Power companies may manipulate figures. The control system and databases are out-of-dateMany companies have collusion with consumers and employers, she said.Technical maintenance is made only when some equipment fails.
