BOROUGH Organist Dr Gordon Stewart is involved in a pair of concerts in Kirklees in early March.

He will play the next concert in the lunchtime series at Huddersfield Town Hall.

That's on Monday, March 7 at 1pm and Gordon's programme will include pieces by F Scotson Clark, D Buxtehude, W Felton, J S Bach and F Liszt.Tickets are pounds 4 (pounds 3 concessions) from Kirklees Booking Offices, by calling 01484 223200 or by paying on the door. Lunches will be available in the Old Court Room from noon.

Two days later Gordon will drive across to play at Dewsbury Town Hall at 12.30pm. He will join Baroque violinist Amanda Babington and soprano Rachel Mosley . Three favourite performers on a bill which will feature Handel's German Arias and Bach's Sonata for Violin and Harpsichord. Amanda is a freelance violinist and recorder player who works with various ensembles including the Dunedin Consort, Les Talens Lyrique and Manchester Baroque.

She has toured and recorded around Europe and also directs the University of Manchester Baroque Orchestra. Rachel studied singing with Patricia Hamilton in Huddersfield before gaining an Honours Degree in music from the University of Manchester and completing her postgraduate performance studies at the Royal Northern College of Music. Rachel made her professional operatic debut singing Suor Osmina in Suor Angelica for Broomhill Opera in London before joining Glyndebourne Festival Opera in Lewes, East Sussex, as a company member. She sang with Glyndebourne for several years.

Since then she has worked in London for Raymond Gubbay at the Albert Hall and is currently singing with Opera North in Leeds. Tickets are pounds 4 (pounds 3 concessions) from Kirklees Booking Offices. Phone 01924 324501 or online at
