ABERYSTWYTH TOWN were made to battle before shaking off lowly CAERNARFON'S resistance with a 3-1 win at Park Avenue.
After a goalless first half the Black and Greens finally got their noses in front on 68 minutes when defender Aneurin Thomas slipped a free kick to Chris Venables to fire home.
However, the visitors were quickly back on terms in spectacular style when Mike Garrity thundered a tremendous 25-yard volley into the net.
Aber hit back to restore their lead on 75 minutes as substitute Stuart Fraser netted from close range after a Venables corner had been headed back across goal.
Andy Evans sealed the points late on following a goalmouth melee.
