Evans on the mark to seal it for Aber; FOCUS ON LOCAL FOOTBALL WELSH PREMIER.

ABERYSTWYTH TOWN were made to battle before shaking off lowly CAERNARFON'S resistance with a 3-1 win at Park Avenue.

After a goalless first half the Black and Greens finally got their noses in front on 68 minutes when defender Aneurin Thomas slipped a free kick to Chris Venables to fire home.

However, the visitors were quickly back on terms in spectacular style when Mike Garrity thundered a tremendous 25-yard volley into the net.

Aber hit back to restore their lead on 75 minutes as substitute Stuart Fraser netted from close range after a Venables corner had been headed back across goal.

Andy Evans sealed the points late on following a goalmouth melee.

AIRBUS UK BROUGHTON, looking to ease their basement fears following a run of three defeats in four outings, finished 1-1 at home to managerless Port Talbot.

The visitors, under caretaker boss Wayne Davies, had taken the lead on 39 minutes through James Burgin, but Airbus, who were denied by a string of fine saves from Kristian Rogers, hit back to earn a points with a 75th-minute reply from sub Tom Rowlands.
