Editor Stern (his affiliation is not noted) introduces the set with an overview of the articles he has selected. The articles, which have been reformatted and are presented in continuous pagination, were originally published in such journals as Evaluation, Evaluation and Program Planning, American Psychologist, American Journal of Evaluation, and Journal of Public Policy, some are excerpted from books, and all include their original scholarly apparatus. The volumes are not indexed.
