European Medical Device Start-Up Industry is Poised for Tremendous Growth, According to Medtech Insight and Windhover Information.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Medtech Insight, a division of Windhover Information Inc., has announced that it will bring its highly successful "Investment In Innovation: A Preview of Early-Stage Medical Technology Companies" partnering and investment conference series to Europe, a growing medical technology innovation hotbed, for the first time in September. Called In3 EUROPE, the two-day meeting will be held on Sept. 20-21, 2005, at The Crowne Plaza Brussels City Centre Hotel in Brussels, Belgium. The event will feature over 50 emerging medical technology companies from around the world seeking funding, acquisition and/or strategic partnership. The audience will be comprised of senior executives from most of the major medtech companies and healthcare investment firms, representing most of the major dealmakers in the medical technology industry.

"The European medical device start-up industry has been simmering for years and is now poised to explode," commented David Cassak, managing partner at Windhover Information and a co-organizer of this event. "U.S. companies have long known and appreciated how important Europe is as a launching pad for their technology. For European start-ups, the clinical expertise in Europe is second to none; what has been lacking is the kind of facilitated networking and partnering forums that the 'Investment In Innovation' events have come to represent in the U.S. We truly believe In3 EUROPE will become a critical annual event for the European medical device community."

In3 EUROPE will feature 10-minute presentations by senior executives from each presenting company, immediately followed by one-on-one meetings with company representatives in private breakout rooms. Companies will present on a range of technologies for such high-growth segments of the medical technology industry as interventional cardiology, spinal and orthopedic surgery, drug delivery technology, and stroke management, among many others. The program will also feature a number of prominent guest speakers, and two interactive, in-depth industry panel discussions, covering a variety of topics impacting medical device innovation and investment on both sides of the Atlantic.

Medtech Insight and their parent company Windhover Information's leading-edge partnering and investment conferences have established a reputation as the premier forums worldwide for senior executives in the medical device, diagnostics, biotech, pharmaceutical and investment communities to preview promising early-stage life sciences companies in need of funding, acquisition and/or strategic partnership, and to network with key decision makers in the industry.
