Eugene police arrested a Eugene woman on a felony assault charge after a traffic crash on Northwest Expressway on Saturday afternoon.

Eugene police and Eugene Springfield Fire responded at 3:32 p.m. Saturday to the motor vehicle crash that occurred on Northwest Expressway near Cornwall.

A 2000 Toyota Sienna van, driven by 31-year-old Amanda Moore, was traveling northbound on Northwest Expressway and crossed the center line, colliding with a southbound 2003 Subaru wagon, Eugene police said in a press release.

The crash caused the Subaru to spin into a ditch, and the Toyota traveled down the ditch for quite some distance, police reported.

The driver of the Subaru, the only occupant in the wagon, was taken to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield and received care for minor injuries.

Moore was interviewed and evaluated by emergency responders at the scene.

The investigation revealed that Moore's actions were intentional, according to police. She was arrested for felony assault and taken to the Lane County Jail.
