Etisalat Teams try out for Pan-Euro Cycle challenge at TrainYas to help diabetics
Over 50 Etisalat staff members from the Etisalat Group, Etisalat UAE and Etisalat Services Holding turned up to Train Yas in Abu Dhabi past week to compete for places in Etisalat's cycle team, which will tour Belgium, Germany, France and Spain in September.
Etisalat is to send eight of its employees from across its footprint in the Middle East, Asia and Africa, to participate in the 2,000km GSMA mHealth Grand Tour (www.mhealthtour.com/) which will test new technologies to fight diabetes.
People from Etisalat's operations in UAE, Afghanistan, Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Tanzania will participate in the ride.
Hundreds of nominations have been received with challenges taking place in each country to help hone down the hopeful into the final team.
Abdulaziz Al Sawaleh, Chief Human Resources Officer at the Etisalat Group said: "This challenge shows that we truly care for the health of our staff and that they in turn care for the health of our customers. Everyone who competes for a place in this team is helping to raise awareness of diabetes, and the final eight will also create strong data to prove how technology can help people suffering this disease."
