A 2005 roundtable forum examined questions related to cost data needed by transportation regulators, methods for measuring the efficiency of service provision, and the impact of regulatory regimes on operators' and infrastructure service provider's cost levels. There is also discussion of ways in which regulators can counter the asymmetry of information, and incentives for data providers to selectively serve business rather than user interests.
