Escaped sex fiend warning.

POLICE were yesterday continuing to hunt for a sex offender on the run in Northern Ireland.

A public safety warning was issued after Paul Red-path, 35, from Stranraer, failed to return to approved accommodation, breaching probation conditions.

Police are thought to be monitoring the Stranraer ferry port which links Scotland with Ireland.

In June former chef Redpath confessed at Downpa trick Crown Court to sex offences against two young girls in March 2005.

He was given a three-year sentence for indecent assault and unlawful carnal knowledge of a 13-year-old and also a three-year probation term. He was released early as he had already spent over a year on remand.

News of his disappearance emerged on Thursday .The public are advised not to approach him.
