Swedish telecomms solutions provider Ericsson introduced on Monday (13 February) a new base station for both GSM and WCDMA access.
The new multi-access base station allows operators to combine GSM and WCDMA in the same footprint, reducing costs for both rollout and operation of a radio network.
The base station can reduce the number of sites by up to 30% and power consumption by 20-50%.
