Era of monarchs is over: CJ LHC.

LAHORE -- Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) Justice Omar Atta Bandial has remarked the era of monarchs is over and sweet will of someone will not work now and everything will happen in line with law and constitution.

He gave these remarks during the course of hearing of petition filed against sacking of 20 additional and assistant advocate generals of Punjab Wednesday.

Counsel for petitioner took the plea that care taker government Punjab had sacked 20 additional and assistant advocate generals illegally. This step by care taker government also constituted breach of notification issued by the election commission, he added.

The care taker government took the plea that making appointments, transfers and sacking the employees was the domain of the government and the court could not interfere in it.

The court nullified the orders of Punjab care taker government for sacking 20 additional and assistant advocate generals of Punjab and issued orders for their reinstatement.
