Equipping students through interactive learning.
ABU DHABI -- Some 2,550 high school students successfully completed their training in English, IT and entrepreneurship at the Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group (ADUKG) as part of the Abu Dhabi Education Council's (ADEC) annual Summer Challenge Programme.
The summer programme was aimed at equipping and improving students' knowledge in key subject areas by providing interactive learning and experiences.
"In order to provide quality education across the emirates, young students need to be equipped with the right skills and qualifications to set them on their successful career paths," said Dr Nabil Ibrahim, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University (ADU).
With the aid of latest facilities, scientific laboratories and innovative educational tools, all the students who attended the summer programme achieved positive results.
In the English training programme, 1,515 students improved their English language skills in writing, speaking and listening while 901 students made progress with their computer skills through the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) training course. Several projects in line with the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 were also submitted by 134 students as part of the entrepreneurship training.
"I have benefited greatly from the course as it gave me self-confidence in speaking English in front of others and enhanced my grammar and conversational skills," commended Aisha Al Azazi, who joined the English language programme.
Aisha Noor Balochi from the Entrepreneurship programme said, "We were encouraged to implement our projects through a process that involves planning, thinking, and researching new ideas and information. The entrepreneurship course also pushed me to think of methods of getting partnerships and showed me how to excel in businesses work."
Of the ICDL class, Ali Saleh Al Harthy said, "The session was of great benefit because now I am able to create a professional PowerPoint presentation, understand and use Excel, prepare spreadsheets and tables, as well as, carry out online research."
