I'M NOT long back from a holiday in Portugal, where I had lots of much needed riding lessons.
My mother, my son Theo and I travelled by car through Spain and into Portugal and had a really good 12 days. We stayed at the home of Beverley Gibbons, who was my instructor for the week.
She teaches classical riding, and I learned a lot, on her fabulous horses, especially Bombita, a beautiful stallion, trained up to a very high level.
I rode in the forest, and had lots of lessons and even entered a show, coming second in the ridden class, which was really good fun.
I would highly recommend this place for a holiday, everything from the food to the atmosphere was great.
Meanwhile, back at the yard while I was away, Tiggy our little TB mare, went up to John Whitaker's to be put in foal to none other than Randi, the top show jumper.
It was John himself who showed us around the yard, and he was so nice and helpful, especially to say he is internationally famous in the horse world.
Tiggy is hopefully now in foal, though we just have to wait for the scan results in about a weeks time.
Tiggy's foal Echo will be one year old on the last day of this month, it only seems two minutes since he came along.
Echo is now out in the field with the big boys and has been fine away from his mum. He's got so big and is a stunning boy.
