Equation words.

In equation words the letter values (A=l to Z=26) can be punctuated into an equation without rearrangement, as CAB (3=1+2) or ADD (1x4=4). It generalises BALANCED WORDS whose two halves' sums are equal. There are far too many equation words to list so I offer a QUIZ instead. For a head start I give the letter values of each word plus enough space to insert appropriate math operators. One I couldn't solve is included as a tease to spur you on to try to solve all 26. My answers are out back. Some have more than one solution. A couple of mine use exponents, the rest limited to the four basic operations. Negative answers are okay but none of my answers is negative.

Multiply is the word 1 couldn't solve. Maybe if you multiply all possible combinations, etc.

abacus (1x2)--1--3-1-21 = 19

beagle (2x5x1)+7 = 12+0 [=17]

calculus-3+1+12-3 =21-12-21+19 [=7]

divide-4-9+22 =-9x(4-5) [=9]

easy 5+1+19 = 25

forty 6x15/18 +20 = 25

gyrate 7+25-18+1 =20-5 [=15]

hundred 8+21-14+4 = 18+5-4 [=19]

incus 9-14+3+21 = 19

joint 10+15+9 = 14+20 [=34]

kangaroo 11+1+14 = 7+1+18+15-15 [=26]

love 12+15 = 22+5 (a balanced word--how apt!)

multiply ??
