EqualLogic and Asigra Team to Provide Disk-Based ROBO Backup/Recovery Solution; Jelecos Customers Benefit from Partner Solution Delivering Affordable, Yet Highly Reliable and Scalable Backup and Restore Services for DataVault.

TORONTO -- EqualLogic(R), a leading provider of enterprise-class iSCSI storage area network (SAN) solutions, today announced it has achieved certification and full interoperability with Asigra(TM) Televaulting(TM) backup and recovery solution for remote office/branch office (ROBO) data. Jelecos has selected Asigra Televaulting offsite backup software and EqualLogic highly scalable storage array for the key components of DataVault.

"Jelecos is committed to providing our clients with technology solutions that simplify their processes and allow them to focus on meeting business goals. The DataVault service, based on Asigra technology, does this by streamlining the data backup and recovery process. EqualLogic's PS Series arrays offer a reliable, scalable solution," said Leon Thomas, president of Jelecos. "Jelecos is protecting more than eight terabytes of client data after only nine months in the marketplace with DataVault and predicts that amount will increase to 12 terabytes by year-end."

The technology partnership brings together EqualLogic's PS Series SANs, delivering complete compatibility, high reliability and unparalleled scalability, and Asigra's Televaulting agentless ROBO backup and recovery software for customers looking to implement a solution that offers scalable performance and capacity scaling for distributed data backup protection with built-in security and compliance features.

The EqualLogic PS Series SAN solution provides the ideal storage infrastructure for Asigra Televaulting DS-System. The EqualLogic PS Series SAN is modular and expandable (individual PS Series storage arrays can be added to the SAN on the fly) and has built-in functionality to perform snapshots and remote replication, making it an excellent storage platform for a DS-System. The Asigra Interoperability Lab certified EqualLogic's PS Series storage arrays for use with its Televaulting software after validating performance and capacity.

"Our partnership with Asigra provides unparalleled disk-to-disk backup capabilities to our joint customers and further demonstrates that the PS Series is the most compatible and complete solution for storage consolidation and protection on the market," said Rob Higby, director of product marketing at EqualLogic. "EqualLogic is revolutionizing networked storage not only by delivering a fully virtualized and automated storage solution, but also by actively developing a rich and interoperable iSCSI storage environment that includes integrated solutions from leading technology partners like Asigra."

"Our joint customers such as Jelecos are the ones that benefit from a remote backup solution technology partnership between Asigra and EqualLogic," said Eran Farajun, executive vice president of Asigra. "The assurance of a seamless, scalable D2D backup solution is ensured by the Asigra Interoperability Lab certification of EqualLogic's PS Series storage arrays."

Asigra Televaulting for Enterprises is currently available with prices starting at $11,250 USD. EqualLogic's PS Series family of storage arrays starts at a U.S. list price of $24,900.
