Epson's achievement with projectors in the Philippines came about from the dynamic 38% growth in the Visual Imaging (VI) projector category.
"We are very glad to receive the good news of Epson's leadership position in the projector category for the Philippine market," said Epson Philippines President/Country Manager Toshimitsu Tanaka. "We attribute this achievement not only to the technical superiority of our products and the unending support from our partners but also to Epson's design philosophy of taking feedback from our customers and using this to build products that exceed their expectations. Because of this, we are even more motivated to work as hard as ever to provide innovative products from our precision technologies and continue to deserve the loyal patronage of the Filipino customer. We are excited to showcase today a new line of amazing projectors that we believe the market will be excited about in the next few months" added Tanaka.
According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), Epson led the Philippines market for inkjet Hardcopy Peripherals in the year 2013 in terms of Value (US$) Share*.
Value (US$) Share corresponds to total customer purchases in USD currency. IDC is the standard source for market share and value share information in the Philippines and in most countries.
The growth was spurred by the exceptional performance of Epson's flagship L-series printers, which posted an immense 104.2% growth from the preceding year in Value (US$) in 2013. The Epson L-series, the first and only genuine ink tank system printer in the world, became the gold standard for the Inkjet hardcopy peripherals (printer) category after Epson launched the innovative printing solution in 2011.
Customers from the Philippines and other countries have warmly welcomed the new Epson printing solution that provides Epson's trademark of high quality and reliability, combined with substantial cost savings.
EPC's internal sales data showed that the company posted a 28% growth in its IJP category, and an overall 18% growth in the company's sales compared to the previous year.
"Since we launched the Epson L-series in 2011, we have posted significant growth every year," remarks EPC President/Country Manager Toshimitsu Tanaka.
The overwhelming response from Filipino customers is a definite sign that our focus on developing these innovative printers is key to expanding our inkjet lineup.
We are glad to be at the forefront of providing a printer that has created a unique category on its own.
The same principle of offering substantial customer savings, as well as high quality, reliability and peace of mind for end-users is our priority as we introduce a more comprehensive IJP lineup today."
