Epson receives two TIPA Awards.

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-25 April 2008-Epson receives two TIPA Awards(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Epson, an imaging products company, has been awarded two photo and imaging awards, the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) Awards.

According to the company, Epson's Stylus Photo R1900 A3 photo printer was named 'Best expert photo printer in Europe 2008', and its wide-format photo printer, the Stylus Pro 11880, was named 'Best large format printer in Europe 2008'.

The company was awarded the accolade of 'Best expert photo printer' for the second consecutive year and TIPA judges cited a number of features that separate the Epson Stylus Photo R1900 from its competition. These include the printer's seven separate colours, its ability to produce prints up to 13" wide on a broad variety of media types from gloss papers to fine art textured media, and the 1440 nozzle print head that enables a print resolution of 5760x1440 dpi.

The Epson Stylus Pro 11880, a professional printer developed for large format applications including fine-art printing, photography and proofing, was reportedly recognized because of its Ultrachrome K3 Vivid Magenta Ink Technology, which offers two new magenta inks ensuring a more precise colour reproduction, and Micro Piezo Thin-Film print head, which ejects approximately 40,000 droplets of ink per second to enable high-speed, high-resolution printing.

No financial details were disclosed.
