Eds. Adrian Armstrong and Jennifer Britnell. (Societe des Textes Francais Modernes, 222.) Paris: S.TEM. (Klincksieck), 2000. lxxxvi + 199 pp. illus, bibl. n.p. ISBN: 2-89503-260-4.

The texts presented in this volume represent Jean Lemaire's and Jean Auton's attempts to gain Louis XII's favor during his war against Pope Jules II. The editors have printed the earliest version of each of the Lemaire texts, maintaining the original spelling and line breaks, while modernizing the punctuation and use of capital letters. The Auton texts are based on the 1512 edition found in the National Library of Russia, Saint Petersburg. Variants of other editions of each author are noted at the end of every section. Includes an introduction by the editors, an index of names, a glossary and a bibliography.
