Envoy lauds Charles on his visit to Qatar.
British Ambassador Nicholas Hopton has lauded Prince Charles on his latest visit to Qatar.
In a statement from the British Embassy, the envoy said: "I am delighted that HRH the Prince of Wales has been able to visit Qatar again.
"Our two countries have a long history of friendship and co-operation and our partnership continues to grow even broader and deeper. HRH's visit is a further demonstration of the two nations' commitment to the closest possible partnership and friendship at the most senior levels.
"The UK looks forward to further close co-operation with Qatar across the board and in particular to tackle the many challenges facing us in the region and globally.'
Shamal road project set to finish ahead of schedule
Around 60% of work on the development of the Shamal road has been completed, local daily Al Arab has learnt from sources.
The completed project is expected to be delivered before the stipulated date at the end of next year.
The Shamal road development is one of the major projects being executed by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) as part of the expressway programme.
It includes the construction of service roads along Shamal road, development of infrastructure at intersections, facilitation of access to them and building service roads from the northern part of Doha at Duhail intersection up to Shamal city, the daily states.
The total length of roads to be built as part of the project is 95.2km.
