Environmental Tectonics Corporation's Testing and Simulations Systems Division Announces Major Contract Award.

SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., Feb. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation's ("ETC" or the "Company") Testing and Simulations Systems (TSS) Division today announced the award of a $5.1 million contact to supply Combustion Air Supply (CAS) Systems and an Altitude Simulation System for vehicle engine testing to a major US automobile manufacturer. The Combustion Air Systems will be used to test engine performance and emissions. The Altitude Simulation System will be used to test high performance vehicle engines at various altitudes. These systems represent the latest technology to support future automotive engine development.

ETC has been designing and manufacturing testing and simulations systems for the automotive and HVAC Industries for the last 35 years. ETC test systems designed for the automotive industry include environmentally controlled drive- in chambers, A/C systems, test benches and calorimeters, component and full vehicle development wind tunnels, engine development systems and automotive emissions testing systems.

ETC's CAS System provides combustion air for test engines and dilution air for exhaust measurement systems. The system delivers air at precisely controlled temperature, humidity, pressure and flow rate and is also free from pollutants. ETC's CAS System eliminates the uncertainties arising from variations in air temperature, humidity and pressure.

ETC's Altitude Simulation System provides an additional capability of testing vehicle performance and emission at high altitudes under extreme environmental conditions. This uniquely designed system simulates high altitude conditions (up to 10,000 feet) for the engine induction air and exhaust air. ETC's system is more cost efficient than an Altitude Simulation Chamber for this application.

Theresa Wagner, TSS Sales & Marketing Manager, stated, "As always, ETC is committed to providing our customers with quality test equipment to help them fulfill their goals of automotive excellence with focus on fuel efficiency, low emissions and dynamic performance. This award solidifies our position as the main domestic supplier to the automotive industry of this test equipment."

ETC designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems, public entertainment systems, process simulation systems (sterilization and environmental), clinical hyperbaric systems, environmental testing and simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international customers.
