Entrepreneurial week kicked off at NUML.

ISLAMABAD -- An entrepreneurial week kicked off on Tuesday here at National University of Modern Languages (NUML) to bridge demand and supply gap between industry and academia.

The 'Entrepreneurial Week' was arranged by the NUML Management Sciences Department to provide future entrepreneurs an opportunity to launch their business/ start ups and sensitize the students about the prevailing business culture.

NUML Rector Major General (Retd) Zia Uddin Najam, visiting the different stalls set up by the students, appreciated their creative and innovative ideas.

The rector said the students should have an entrepreneurial mindset to execute their business projects in effective manners.

Underlining the need for making students self-confident, he said the activity was aimed at helping those students who sought a platform to obtain finances to introduce new products in the market.

Management Sciences Dean Maqsood ul Hassan said entrepreneurial week was being arranged every semester for the students of Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration as a project work for the subject of 'Entrepreneurship'.

He said it helped students to understand and exercise the concepts required to initiate an idea and establish a business which would also help create job opportunities for youth, he added.

The participating students established over 70 stalls, featuring a variety of creative works of art and crafts, textile items, books, accessories, jewelry and food for sale.

NUML Director General Brig Mohammad Ibrahim, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences Dr Maqsood ul Hassan, deans' languages and social sciences, Head of Department Dr Nadeem Talib and others were also present on the occasion.
